Somewhere between the Veil of Veronica, the molten skin of a serpent, and the Shroud of Turin, an effigy, a remnant, a private ritual, a trace left behind.
These make-up impressions are made following performances, directly onto make-up wipes. While they are a series, each impression made is unique and specific to that performance and the face of that performance.
Together they are a record of the ever shapeshifting face of my performance persona Celeste, of an augmented state of existing, of all the nuanced decisions I’ve made in painting my face that day.
